Thank you, this is wonderful, Seth! I have long loved portraits and you've offered up some wonderful ones. I collect antique portraits, especially the "cabinet cards" of 1870- 1920 or so, about 4" x 7" -- they were hugely popular and end up in antique shops -- and just as you have here, I like to assemble groups, or look at individuals and respond to them. So much humanity!
I had to take a very deep breath - the photos are amazing but when I came to Louise and John - oh my - John could be my late husband they look so much alike in this photo.
What you say about photos/portraits is so true. Why then do some of us shy away from the camera? Because we don't want the world to see all of us? Or because we don't want to see it for ourselves?
