On one hand, WTH did it take 18 people needlessly dead in his home district to get him to this point? On the other hand, can you think of any other legislator who's been prompted to change his/her position on firearms in response to a school or supermarket or movie theater shooting? I can't.

Lowering the flag has completely lost its significance. The flag in front or our police station is always at half staff. It’s remarkable when it’s at the top of the pole.

how about getting rid of flags as symbols . I think they are fine as wind socks or decorations.

It should be a law at this point. Only when they’re allowed back up will we know something’s shifted in our collective psyche
