I was there in Haiti with you that day, a time that was life-changing. Even then we understood that his power and influence was not meant to be circumscribed by a mere presidency.

We were just at the Carter Center in January. It reflects the President Carter that I remember. Joe Biden, despite being a career politician, has a lot of Jimmy Carter in him.

A lovely story. I met Rosalynn Carter once during the campaign. They are just very decent people. Perhaps the American people no longer value decency as a quality to be president. If so that would be a shame.

Jimmy Carter inspired me to work for Habitat for Humanity, first building houses in CT, then serving on the Family Selection Committee here on MV. To me, he was the greatest man/president to ever hold the office. Honest almost to a fault and unwavering in his faith. Despite the rot all around him.

People talk about the judgement of history. I'd welcome a good conversation one day about that idea, if it's real or not. But if it is, Jimmy Carter certainly will keep elevating in stature, in my opinion too. Thanks for the note Carla.
