It's also ridiculous that there is anger over these people crossing route 28 - not anger that the government hasn't put more crosswalks to allow pedestrian access across the cape. The purpose of transportation infrastructure is to allow people to get around safely, and if that's not happening we need to redesign it. Many areas of the cape lack good pedestrian infrastructure, and we need to change that.
Honestly, Seth, how do you sleep after spinning your lies? I strongly encourage anyone who just read your fiction to listen to the recording of the meeting posted on the Yarmouth town website. I spoke of safety concerns saying how dangerous it is for children to be playing in a parking lot on a busy main road and how dangerous it is for the residents of Harborside to be crossing Rt. 28 without a crosswalk. I also mentioned that items such as cabbage and potatoes are not items that are easy to cook in hotel rooms that lack kitchens. Did you hear about the hotel fire at the shelter in Sutton? Apparently, not. Somehow, your lunatic filter heard that I want to "control how families allow their children to play in the motel parking lot, how they walk along busy Route 28, whether they should buy heads of cabbage in the supermarket that they must be cooking somewhere — perhaps in their rooms!" YOU, Seth, are what is causing the divide in this country. You spit out slurs like racist and xenophobe, proving that YOU are the one filled with unchristian hatred, not me. Merry Christmas!
I'm guessing there maybe 7-8 churches in Yarmouth. If they would get together and "adopt" these unfortunate people in a demonstration of true Christianity, helping them with food, clothing, transportation needs, etc., the problem would go a long way to being solved. Instead, there are too many so-called people of faith, who in the words of that song, "The Eve of Destruction," display the attitude of "Hate your next-door neighbor but don't forget to say grace."
Seth, thank you for ending your piece with Joyce’s actions. My head was ready to explode until you reminded me that the caring and compassionate people outnumber the crackpots. But we rarely hear about their acts of kindness in the mainstream media. They want to keep the outrage churning so America keeps clicking. Joe Biden is right. We really are so much better than that.
Joyce from South Yarmouth said it all. I wish more of these self-proclaimed (very loudly) Christians would take note. Thx, btw, for the background info on TB. I didn't know about latent TB. Blatant racism -- sometimes I wish I knew less about that.

Infant of Innocence Awaken us to love
Sooooo…..anybody worried about what diseases Cape Cod residents are going to give the newcomers?
I hadn't thought about that. My mind immediately jumped to "epidemic materialism."
Joyce, thank you. Seth, thank you for this story and it's uplifting ending.
