Seth, I lived in Scotland for two years, and I learned very quickly that born in Scotland (or bloodline leading back to Scotland) make one a Scot or Scottish…. Never Scotch. Making that mistake once, a quick verbal hand slap and a reminder that scotch is something one drinks (delicious libation) and never refers to people. Great story on the trees!

Now I know! Thank you. Bet there are many places where nuances like this are important; musing about how even on this little peninsula you have Chatham versus Eastham, the first town's name ending in "um" and the second town's name ending in the food. If you get'em wrong you definitely get that exasperated where'd-you-come-from look.

All is well as long as I don’t have to listen to anything that comes out of our governor’s mouth. I live in Austin,TX. Only daughter getting married in 3 weeks and everyone healthy!
