I thought I had heard that part of his terms with the US Attorney's office was he could not resign? Not sure if that is rumor or fact. With a Trump appointed US Attorney, keeping this in the the news is probably what they want.
I was at the State House on Wednesday for a lobby day. I went to his office, assuming he would not be there. But what surprises me, is I would think he still has a staff member and shouldn't that person be there to at minimum, respond to constituent inquiries. We should chat.
I saw nothing in the indictment or reporting that suggested the US Attorney could preclude a resignation. That would be highly, highly unlikely, something I've never seen before, difficult to imagine the legal power and justification to block an elected official who chooses to resign for whatever reason. But as I've learned many times, I might be wrong!
Seth - this is what was in a news story at the time of the initial proceedings -
"Cabell denied the request for bond, releasing Flanagan on several conditions, including that he report to probation regularly and not move without permission. He is also required to stay employed or find a job."
Thank you for this information
Great information. He should leave. Full stop.

Nor have I seen anything, having read that also. Sad story on so many levels but in the end, folks in 1st Barnstable are getting hurt again.
Thank you for the information, definitely important to know.
